I get some great tips from  RealAge.   It’s the site that Drs. Roizen and Oz are attached to. They’re the doctors who wrote the YOU books…You The Owner’s Manual, YOU On A Diet, etc.  I read the YOU On A Diet book last year and was blown away.  It was basically a science book that was interesting to read.  It explains what happens to the food as it hits your mouth until it’s out of your system…or parked on your thighs!  I did the diet for about 3 weeks and effortlessly lost 18 pounds.  NO KIDDING!  I went off of it due to boredom in recipes by my family members (at least that was where I decided to place 100% of the blame).

Well, after gaining some of it back, I’ve decided to go back on it again.  This time I’m coupling it with BodyPump at my local gym, Thrive, and  walking my dogs.  This lethal combination is going to get me to my 2008 New Year’s Resolution — 12 by 8/12.  Size 12 by my birthday!  My neighbor and I are in this together.  She doesn’t have as much to lose as I do, but we have a very embarrassing, noisy PIGGY bank going between our houses collecting a dollar for every exercise class under 3 times a week that we miss.  The holiday season was bad for both of us and now the pig has around $10 in it.

We’re saving money to then CELEBRATE our SUCCESS in six months by heading to a spa…just for us!   Care to join us?  You can do whatever form of diet and/or exercise you want, but keep checking back here for some great healthy tips and inspiration.   Since this is a public blog, I now have you to keep me on track.  If you’re in this vicious game of weight watching, perhaps we can help each other!
